Collection: The Cecil Hawthorne Collection

Welcome to the Cecil Hawthorne Collection. An ever-growing archive of magical artefacts, reproduction ephemera, and curiosities drawn from the imagined life of Cecil Hawthorne, a Victorian spiritualist medium of scholarly bearing and uncommon gift.

Hawthorne was a figure of quiet distinction in the parlours and reading rooms of Victorian London. Equal parts mystic and scholar, he worked in full light, beneath the dome of the British Museum and amongst the book-laden shelves of his Russell Square library. His voice was low and unhurried; his methods rooted in precision, dignity, and the conviction that some truths are too sacred for display.

Hawthorne himself is a fiction, but the world he inhabits is not. His life is fixed in the real history of 19th-century spiritualism, an age when science sought the soul and the dead were never far from the drawing room.

Each artefact in the Collection stands alone and within a larger continuity. The famed pendulum known as the Emerald Oracle, the karmic Whispering Tokens, the silent Seeking Glass: each is steeped in story, made not as a mere curio but as a conduit into Hawthorne's world. The same rooms recur. The same names. A keeper who holds many will, in time, find them speaking to one another.

Every artefact holds a secret. Every artefact poses a question. The candle gutters; you are invited to step beyond.
